ANTIQUE SUFFRAGETTE AMETHYST DIAMOND PERIDOT RING VICTORIAN CIRCA 1900
This beautiful antique Suffragette ring is from the Victorian era, Circa 1900.
The piece is set with a 0.15ct violet Amethyst in the centre two green 0.08ct Peridots and two 0.02ct Diamonds at either side.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White colours which were chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking! Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes!
The front and shoulders of the gallery displays beautiful engraved detail, all set in 18ct Yellow Gold.
