ANTIQUE VICTORIAN SUFFRAGETTE NECKLACE SILVER PASTE CIRCA 1900
This fabulous antique Victorian sterling silver necklace was made representing the Suffragette movement, Circa 1900.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White colours which were chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking! Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes!
The fabulous necklace boasts a beautifully engraved swinging pendant decorated in violet, green, pink and white Paste Stones.
Paste is a heavy, transparent flint glass that simulates the fire and brilliance of gemstones. White Pastes sparkle just like Diamonds and take expert craftsmanship to capture their beauty.
The necklace is all set in Sterling Silver and displays beautiful Victorian workmanship of it’s time.
The necklace hangs beautifully around the neck and is a great talking piece!
