VINTAGE SUFFRAGETTE STYLE GEMSTONE BEAD NECKLACE AMETHYST DROPPER
A remarkable vintage bead necklace from the 20th Century made up of polished gemstone beads that lead to a large amethyst dropper with beautiful natural patterning beneath the surface.
The beads are a combination of amethyst and a patterned green stone that may be serpentine or chrysoprase. These are accompanied by faceted crystal links in between and a paste studded silver bale for the dropper.
The colour combination used was often associated with the women’s Suffrage movement and could be a deliberate tribute. Violet represented Loyalty, White - Purity and Green - Hope.
It’s remained in excellent condition and is a distinct statement piece boasting a wonderful assortment of coloured gemstones.
