ASK A QUESTION PURCHASE

This fabulous antique French dropper brooch was made during the Victorian era, Circa 1900.

The beautiful brooch boasts three long chain link droppers with two more droppers dangling from each.

The piece is decorated with green Emeralds, creamy Pearls, and a mixture of Pink Tourmaline and pink Topaz stones which make up the Suffragette colours.

Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White colours which were chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking! Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes!

The Emerald is the sacred stone of the goddess Venus, It was thought to preserve love and has long been the symbol of hope.

Pink tourmaline represents a love of humanity and carries the virtue of unconditional love and friendship.

The piece is all set in Silver and complete with French hallmarks on the pin and catch.

A beautiful, unique French piece that is steeped in history!

Weighs 26.6 grams.
