ANTIQUE EDWARDIAN SCOTTISH SUFFRAGETTE PENDANT NECKLACE CIRCA 1915
This stunning Antique Edwardian Scottish Suffragette necklace and pendant has been commissioned in Sterling Silver. The pendant features a Scottish thistle shaped design and has been set with an array of Paste stones which are coloured green, white and violet. The pendant also features a lovely faux pearl dropper.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White stones which were chosen to counter the masculine women’s rights stereotypes put forward by opponents. Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes!
A beautiful pendant which comes on a fine chain and references the Scottish devotees of the Women’s Rights movement.
